Loratadine is an antihistamine. Antihistamines prevent sneezing, runny nose, itching and watering of the eyes, and other allergic symptoms.


What does Loratadine do?

Loratadine is an antihistamine — a type of medicine that blocks the action of histamine, a natural substance in your body that is released by your immune system during an allergic reaction. 


What is the Loratadine Difference? 

Unlike most other OTC antihistamines, such as Benadryl®, Loratadine is nonsedating and does not carry restrictions on driving or while operating heavy machinery. What's more, Loratadine has once-daily dosing. 

Loratadine side effects

Although side effects from Loratadine are not common, they can occur.  Possibilities include:

* headache 
* dry mouth, nose, and throat 
* drowsiness

* rapid heartbeat 
* dizziness
* difficulty urinating
