Claritin
Relieve the burden of allergy symptoms with Claritin.
What does Claritin do?
Claritin (Loratadine) contains an antihistamine — a type of medicine that blocks the action of histamine, a natural substance in your body that is released by your immune system during an allergic reaction.
What is the Claritin Difference?
Unlike most other OTC antihistamines, such as Benadryl®, Claritin is nonsedating and does not carry restrictions on driving or while operating heavy machinery. What's more,
Claritin has once-daily dosing (Claritin-D 12 hour twice daily).
Claritin Tablets and Claritin RediTabs® Tablets have been approved for use by the Food and Drug Administration
for all people age 6 years and older.
Allergy Tips
Watch the clock. Peak pollen production occurs between 5 AM and 10 AM , so try to plan outside activities at other times of the day.
Check the forecast. Avoid going outdoors when counts are high. Also, heavy rains wash pollen from the air, making post-shower outings more comfortable. Beware of dry, windy days when pollen can be particularly intense.
Mask your symptoms. Buy yourself some relief by wearing an inexpensive painter's mask when you're working in the garden or doing other outside chores. It can provide additional protection from pollens.
Change your clothes. A quick shower and a fresh change of clothes will take care of pollens that may have collected on hair or fabrics while you were outside.
Wash wisely. Don't line-dry clothes outside.
Clear the air. When driving, keep windows up and set the air conditioner on recirculate. At home, keep windows closed. Use air-conditioning and change filters often.
